Prince Hussain, the eldest son of the Sultan of the Indies in "Prince Ahmad and the Fairy Peri-Banu," travels to Bisnagar (Vijayanagara) in India and buys a magic teleporting tapestry, also known as a magic carpet. After losing the chance to marry Nouronnihar, he gives up his title and become a poor dervish, living in solitude. At the end, Ahmed sends a messenger to him and offers him a title and province, but Hussain wishes to remain where he is.
Trivia[]
- In the Arabian Nights miniseries, the character was portrayed by Hari Dhillon. As expected in this version, the magic carpet flies instead of teleporting. In the story none of the brothers went after the objects because of a princess, but because their father said he would decide who would be his successor by putting each one in a search for an object. But in the end the three came together to save their father from dying, and resolved to rule the kingdom together.
