Prince Ali is the second son of Sultan of the Indies in The Story of Prince Ahmed and the Fairy Paribanou. He travels to Shiraz, the capital Persia, and buys a magic perspective glass that can see for hundreds of miles. He is given the hand of Princess Nouronnihar in marriage.

- In the Arabian Nights miniseries, the character was portrayed by Alexis Conran. In this version he went after a telescope and in this version he and his brothers did not go in search of objects to impress the princess, but because that way his father would decide who would rule the kingdom after him. But after they banded together to save their father, they resolved to rule the kingdom together.
