The story tells about the Persian King or Sultan named Sindibad (or Sindbad) who is very fond of his hunting companion which is a falcon which she never left on his side until death, the falcon has an accessory which is used as a drinking cup for hunting. The chief hunter told the king that it is time to hunt which the king agreed and set out with their own fellow hunters to hunt a gazelle; later, they caught one and the king warned not to let it escape. The scared gazelle jumped over the king and gets furious about it and sets out with a horse which the falcon also tracked it down.

The falcon struck the gazelle's eyes and the king dealt the final blow to it with a mace. Later, the king sets to drink on a strange liquid which is from a palm tree and he offers the falcon but she refuses to drink it again and again until the clueless king cut off one of her wings which she warned that the liquid is from the viper that might want to eat her that made the king feel remorseful of his reckless action. After going to the camp, the falcon died later and the king regret his actions which the falcon actually saved his life from the viper.
