Tale of the Envier and the Envied

A story is told which two men in the city lived in their home adjacent to each other, one of them envied the other due to his prosperous life compared to him, his envy grew worse and hatred to his neighbor as well. The envious man settled out and moved to another city and live a less envious life which he built an oratory, the poor townsfolk goes to his oratory for the mercy of Allah. The envious man was invited by the envied fellow and shared the fortunate news. Later, both of them are in the deserted well and the envious man pushed the other guy to the well but the genie caught him and put him back to the surface. The Sultan heard the news of the envious man and visits him tomorrow on account of his daughter, she is possessed by the genie named Meimoun ben Demdem who fell in love with her which a magic is required to exorcise her. Later, the Sultan visited the envious man in concern of his possessed daughter which has been exorcised by the envied man and married the daughter as the reward. Later, the vizier died and the envied man took place and the Sultan died afterwards same as the vizier of old age which the envied man became the new Sultan with new viziers. The envied man saw his old neighbor and exiled him with a thousand gold and twenty loads of merchandise to the distant city where the envious man settled once.
