The Genie of the Lamp is the powerful genie trapped inside a lamp and discovered during Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp. He is much more powerful and fearsome than the first genie, who is trapped inside a ring. He is sometimes described as a Marid, the most powerful type of jinn.

- Most adaptations drop the Genie of the Ring and keep the Genie of the Lamp instead.
- Robin Williams played the Genie of the Lamp in Disney's adaptation of Aladdin. In the 2019 Live-action adaption, Will Smith played the role.
- In the fairy opera of Aladdin by G. Soane (1826), there are actually three female genies of the lamp named Astra, Mellora and Corella.
