The second of the three sisters was widowed young. An old woman invites the lady to her daughter's wedding. When she arrives at the wedding, the bride tells the lady that her brother is in love with her. The brother is attractive, so she agrees to marry him. After a month of marriage, the old woman persuades her to kiss a young merchant in exchange for some cloth. Instead, the merchant bites her on the cheek, and her new husband, refusing to accept her explanations and excuses, has her beaten nearly to death and thrown out of the house. She now lives with her half sisters in seclusion.
After hearing their stories, the Caliph has the Eldest Lady summon the Jinniyah who had turned her two sisters into dogs, and commands the curse be lifted. He marries them to the three Kalandars. He is informed that the Second Lady's husband is his own son, Al-Amin, so he commands him to take her back. Finally, he marries the Third Lady himself.
