The Jewish Doctor was in Damascus where he studied his medicinal arts when he was interacted by a servant of a handsome young governor whom he visit for ten days and was given a promotion of superintendent of the hospital and accommodate him. Later, the doctor found out why the governor was fell ill due to the right hand being cut off; the governor will tell his story after the bath. Both of them goes to the garden to take a picnic; the young governor told his story that he is a native of Mosul and his father is the eldest of the ten brothers in which he has no cousins that his father only had a child. The governor himself grew up hanging along with his uncles, He and his father and uncles visited the mosque in their homeland in which they prayed. They discussed about traveling to Cairo and the Nile. One of the uncles recited the verse about the beauty of Cairo and admired it.
The uncles and the governor discussed further about the Cairo and later the young governor set out to the Aleppo and later to Damascus while selling their goods. Later, they traveled to Cairo of Egypt where he met a young lady where they ate along till morning, the lady refused the governor's offer of ten thousand gold and left and expect the return for three days. Afterwards, she returned with more luxurious clothing; they made a casual conversation and ate along then gave him twenty gold. Later tomorrow, they met again with a damsel in which the governor recited the verse about the pleasant days. The damsel amazed the governor when she unveiled her own face, they drank together and made the lady jealous. Later, they slept on the bed till morning. The governor witnessed the murder in which the damsel was murdered that made him flee from the place and find the lady but never found her. He later buried the damsel and goes back to clean up the mess in which he has to leave to join with the uncles in Egypt. When he go along with them, they're joyful that they sold out their own goods; he along with them enjoyed the trip to Nile but he goes out of their sight later due to the horrors he witnessed at Cairo and the uncles departed. The governor spent his time paying the rent for three years, he later cleaned up everything about the murder; he took a bath and got tempted to gave the necklace to the broker which was about to be bid for two thousand gold. The young governor was caught for stealing the necklace in which he got the punishment for stealing it, the governor has to look for another place for lodging due to theft. They told him that the daughter of the landlord was missing. Later, he was brought to Cairo governor in which he have to make sure the officers have to pay the price for cutting his hand or face execution. The Cairo governor asks what really happened and recited the verse about the bringing the truth to him.
The young governor told the truth about the lady and the damsel that was killed out of jealousy, the Cairo governor learned the truth and recited about the women and the jealousy. He stated that the lady who is a murderer is his daughter whom he made into strict seclusion after growing up and marry his brother's son but came back after the son's death and visited the young governor in which the damsel is also the daughter of the Cairo governor. The damsel whom is the youngest daughter supposed to marry the young governor but instead married the eldest one. After the marriage, the young governor learned that his father died and the Cairo governor dispatched a courier to inherit the possessions of the young one. And this is what amazed the Jew and received gold from him in which he end up being along with the trial about the hunchback.
